We’ve rethought our packaging to create less waste, teach the concept of reuse, reduce, recycle and all the while creating a cute little house for your new class pet!

We’re just a small family run operation, but we find it’s the smallest touches that can make the biggest difference to what we affectionately refer to around the house as the “adoption process.” From the moment you place your order, through to the end of the school year, we try to maximize the value and bring joy to your class. Our latest step in that direction is the rethinking of our packaging.

    Reduce Waste Box

Introducing our new cardboard boxes that are made from recycled fibre and kraft paper, reducing our plastic use by 99%. For smaller orders we use a 100% compostable eco satchel, and for anything that needs extra protection we use a 100% compostable bubble wrap alternative.

We didn’t stop there though, we designed the box specifically to be re-used in your classroom. Your Teacher’s Pet Creature has written a little poem on the top of the box for you to share with your students.

    Recycle Poem Early Childhood
This box was made for shipping your pet.
So, it could arrive without getting wet.

They’d really love if you could re-use
    and decorate however you choose.

This box will become your pet’s new place.
Their own little private classroom space

Once you’ve read the poem to your students you can flip the box over and take a look at the bottom, there you’ll see we’ve printed some door handles, and space where you can write your Pet Creature’s name. Simply cut open the bottom to reveal your pets new private space.  Reuse by decorating

We’ve intentionally printed our boxes on white and used as little branding as possible to give your class the biggest canvas we could to decorate their new pets home. Paint, pens, glitter the choice is theirs!

Would you like to conduct a lesson on recycling while introducing your pet? We’ve also put together a free resource for you that you can download here.  Your Teacher’s Pet Creature loves recycling!

    Bonus reduce reuse recycle worksheet

We’d absolutely love to see some photos of how your students decorate their pet’s new home and how they’ve settled into your class. You can share them in our private Facebook Community.
